The Bauchi State House of Assembly has confirmed two female nominees as commissioners, bringing the number of female commissioners in the state to seven.
The two new female commissioners confirmed by the assembly are Amina Muhammad Katagum from Zaki Local Government Area and Jamila Muhammad Dahiru from Toro Local Government Area.
The speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman, disclosed this during plenary where the assembly unanimously confirmed the nominees.
The seven female commissioners in the state are, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko, Maryam Garba Bagel, Asma’u Ahmed, Hajara Jibrin Gidado, Hajiya Sa’adatu Bello Kirfi, Hajiya Amina Muhammad Katagum and Jamila Dahiru.

Hon. Gazali Abubakar (Ganjuwa East Constituency) commended Governor Bala Mohammed for nominating more women as commissioners in the state; saying having seven female commissioners in his cabinet showed the governor was promoting gender equality.
On his part, the Majority Leader, Hon. Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu (Azare Madangala Constituency), appreciated the nomination of Amina Katagum to be in the executive council of Bauchi State.
