Two governorship aspirants, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate and Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Lame, have disclosed their decision not to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Bauchi state until some burning issues are peacefully resolved.
The aspirants made the position known at a press conference in Bauchi on Monday night.
They alleged various infractions including physical intimidation and violence against their supporters.
They further alleged that ballot papers were hijacked by agents suspected to be from the state government.
The aspirants therefore urge the national leadership of the party to intervene and save the party in the state.
They also called for the dissolution of the present state APC leadership at all levels.
According to the aspirants, they have lost confidence in the present leadership as they will not be fair to them in any contest in the state.
