Basketmouth, AY Once Lived In My BQ – Alibaba

Veteran comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, popularly known as Alibaba, has revealed that he once accommodated Basketmouth and AY Makun in his Boys’ Quarters.

He said the two lived there when they were just starting out in the profession.

Alibaba, regarded as the ‘King of Comedy’ by industry players, revealed this in the most recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, which is co-hosted by actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu.

The veteran comedian stated, “AY and Basketmouth; when you think about it, these are people who used to live in BQ (Boys’ quarters) with me.”

Basketmouth and AY had a 17-year feud, in which case they both gave different accounts of what led to the rift, until recently, when basketmouth publicly apologised to AY. Basketmouth also invited AY to attend his recent comedy show at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos, while at a recent comedy show, AY told the audience, “When you see Basketmouth, please tell him he’s my Gee”.
