The federal government has said funds from the basic healthcare provision fund will be utilised to revitalise Nigeria’s Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) around the country.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, said this on Wednesday while speaking to State House reporters after leading Seniat Fisseha, the Buffett Foundation’s Vice President for Global Programmes, to a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

After the meeting, the minister said his ministry would be working with state governments, community leaders, and traditional leaders to ensure that Nigerians get better quality services to deal with the issues that bother them.

He said critical issues affecting PHCs such as malaria, immunisation, maternal and child health, and reproductive health would be addressed.

Pate also disclosed that Ms Fisseha of the Buffett Foundation would be partnering with the government of Nigeria to advance the health and wellbeing of all, especially our adolescent girls and women. ⁣
