Bandits shot 3, abducted 8 family members in Kaduna

 

Bandits have shot and injured three persons even as they abducted eight family members at Azzara village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.

A resident of Azzara, Shuaibu Usman, who confirmed the latest kidnap incident through telephone to our reporter on Tuesday, said the incident happened around 11:34 pm on Monday.

He said the bandits, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the house of one Malam Saidu Dan Baba, and whisked away eight family members, which he said comprised of wife and children.

He said the three injured victims were neighbours who were shot in the legs while attempting to escape.

“Unknown to the three victims while they were trying to escape out of fear as a result of the sporadic shooting, one of the bandits shot at them on the legs,” he said.

He said the three injured victims were taken to Jere Hospital even as he said no contact is yet to be established with the abductors.

The spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, SP Hassan Mansur, is yet to confirm the incident as calls and text messages sent to him were not responded to.
