Police in Sokoto State have neutralised a notorious bandit kingpin, Bello Hantsi, known as Mai Dubu-Dubu and recovered one AK-47 rifle.
Police spokesperson, Ahmad Rufa’i, in a statement, quoted the police commissioner, Ali Hayatu Kaigama, as saying that 21 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the bandits’ leader.
CP Kaigama said police investigation revealed that Mai Dubu-Dubu of Tungar Rana village, Kware LGA was also a supplier of arms and ammunition to other bandits.
“At about 0330Hrs of today, operatives of Anti-Kidnapping Unit in conjunction with DPO Kware Division and his men mobilised in search of the suspect, on sighting the team at a nearby bush and sensing danger, he fired a shot to escape arrest and a quick response from the team neutralised him while others flew with bullet wounds.

“In the course of searching the scene, the body of one (1) suspected bandit as well as one (1) Ak47 rifle with twenty-one (21) rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the scene,” he said.
