Bandits have raided a ‘Tipper Garage’ in Mpape town in Abuja, killing one imam and abducting a popular transporter identified as Alhaji Salisu Danfulani.
A resident, Nasiru Ahmad, said the attackers carried out the operation around 8 pm on Sunday as members of the garage were coming out of a mosque after the day’s last prayer.
He said the mosque’s imam, Ahmad Maidara, tried to escape the scene through another path. But unknown to him, some of the attackers had already taken position there. Ahmad said they shot him dead.
He added that another member of the garage who was also shot on his hand was rushed to a hospital where he was treated in the night.
