Bandits kill community leader, abduct 4 housewives in Kaduna

A community leader and member of the Fityanul Islam First Aid Group, Igabi Local chapter, has been killed by suspected bandits at his residence Unguwar Mai Awo village in Kaduna State.

He was reportedly killed alongside his nephew.

The bandits also abducted four women including a nursing mother in the community when they stormed the village located near Maraban Jos along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.

Sources told City & Crime that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday.

A youth leader in the area, Adam Unguwar Awo, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

“The bandits killed Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, who is a community leader and chairman of Fityanul Islam First Aid group of the area, and his nephew, Zakari Yau. Four women, including a nursing mother, were also abducted by the bandits from the community,” he said.

 The state police public relations officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, said he would call back after getting details of the incident but did not as at the time of filing this report.
