Bandits kill commercial motorcycle rider after collecting N30,000 ransom

Suspected bandits have killed a commercial motorcycle rider known as (Okada) after collecting N30,000 as a ransom for his release.
Daily Trust gathered the victim was kidnapped on 13/01/2022 in Kwoi Jaba, Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
His friends had been forced to contribute the ransom to secure his release but the bandits still refused to release him after receiving the money.
Daily Trust learned from a Kaduna State Vigilantes Service official in the town who craved anonymity that the victim’s body was discovered in a bush along Kachia Road on Thursday.
“The ransom of N30,000 was demanded and was paid by his friends but was not released because they (bandits)  demanded more money which was not paid.
“He was believed to be killed days ago,” he said.
Similarly, suspected bandits killed another woman at Kasar Sarki Nasarawa in Namama area of Fatika Giwa LGA.
The incident happened at about 10:00 pm on Wednesday when the bandits tried to enter the community but were engaged in a gun battle by vigilantes and other men on guard.
Calls to the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP  Mohammed Jalige, were unanswered and he has not replied to a text message sent to him on the two incidents.
