“Because of persistent attacks in the area, residents of most villages in the area had vacated their homes and now live as Internally Displaced Persons in Sarkin-Pawa, the headquarters of Munya LGA. So, it is from Sarkin-Pawa that Samanja goes to his farm every day. He went to plant okro early in the morning on Tuesday and bandits met him there and killed him,” she narrated.

She said Samanja, who left behind his aged father, was the only surviving son of his father.

According to her, the vigilantes had to be involved to retrieve the corpse from the farm.
