Bandits have shot dead three people and rustled 160 cows in Katambi, near Azzara in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
A community leader, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter through telephone on Thursday, that bandits on Tuesday invaded Katambi.
He said the bandits also abducted the owner of the cows, Sayyadi Ibrahim, his child and two others.
He further said, “It was while on their way with the rustled cows that the owner of the cows, alongside three others, tried to resist them. The bandits then opened fire and killed the owner of the cows, alongside two others. But the bandits, upon arriving at Hayin-Dam, released the man’s child and the two others.
“Soldiers who went after the bandits could not locate the corpses of the victims, until this morning (Thursday) when the corpses were recovered and buried in the forest as they had decomposed.”
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to comment on the incident.
