Two villagers have been killed by bandits at Udawa village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The community located along Kaduna Birnin Gwari Highway was attacked by bandits around 8pm on Sunday.
A community leader, Muhammadu Umaru, who confirmed the killings to Daily Trust on Monday, said one of the victims was a blind man.

He said residents came out to engage the bandits with the support of nearby security agents forcing the bandits to flee the community.
“Those killed were Sarkin Komo who recently moved into the village while the second person was a blind man who was hit by a bullet,” he said.
He said the security situation in that area was worrisome, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to end the killings of innocent people in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Mohammed Jalige, couldn’t be reached as calls to his phone were not answered at the time of filling the report.
