Bandits free Bauchi village head, son

The village head of Zira in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Yahya Abubakar, and his son, Habibu, have been released by their abductors.

They were released yesterday morning after spending three days in captivity and have reunited with their family.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the release of the victims to journalists yesterday but did not give details on how their release was secured.

“Today, the village head of Zira and his son regained freedom (from captivity). Both of them are in good health condition,” he said.

Their release came hours after a former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Toro; a former Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles, Garba Yila, and another person, also regained their freedom after being abducted.
