Bandits’ caregiver, 12 others nabbed in Sokoto

Men of the Sokoto State Police Command have arrested one Jamilu B. Yusuf (35), a community health officer in Badon Hanya in Sokoto metropolis for allegedly treating bandits and kidnappers.

Jamilu was arrested along with 12 others on their way to Tambuwal for a mission.

Parading the suspects on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Ali Kaigama, said the health worker was the one treating injured suspects.

Kaigama added that three AK-47 rifles with 116 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from them.

In an interview with newsmen, Yusuf confessed treating bandits anytime they sustained gunshot wounds and that they were paying him up to N100,000 per patient.
