Bandits abduct housewives in Kaduna

Bandits have abducted five women in Birnin Yero Community of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The bandits stormed the area at night and picked seven victims but some later escaped.

A resident, who simply identified himself as Nasir, said among the victims were housewives and young ladies.

He said the bandits arrived a week after they abducted six other‎ residents from same community.

Another resident Yahaya Salisu, said the number of people abducted was higher but Daily Trust couldn’t independently verify the claim.

Contacted the State Public Relations Officer, ASP Jalige Mohammed, said he was not aware of the abduction but will find out from the division officer before commenting.

Bandits on Tuesday abducted 18 residents of Keke ll community of Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Kaduna is one of the states battling kidnapping and banditry in north western region.
