Bandits have abducted 30 villagers in Unguwar Liman, Gwada community in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Residents said the victims, including housewives and kids below the age of 2, were taken to an unknown destination.
The incident occurred on Sunday night around 11 pm when the bandits, shooting sporadically, stormed the community.
Malam Jafar Anaba, a resident and community leader, informed Daily Trust on Monday night that his biological brother and other relatives were among those abducted.

He said the abductors have not contacted the families of the victims.
“They (bandits) came into the community and took away their victims, about 30 of them. My biological brother and other relatives were among those abducted on Sunday night,” he said.
He said residents made efforts to call for help the night of the attack and in the morning, the following day, but there was no telecommunications network at that time.
Efforts to get the state’s police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, for confirmation were unsuccessful.
His phone line failed to connect and he did not reply to the text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report last night.
