The Village Head of Kudiri in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State, Malam Suleiman Ashipada, has said that the swift response by troops in tackling cases of banditry and kidnapping in his domain has brought some relief to his people.
Malam Ashipada, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Wednesday, said he was overwhelmed with the synergy between the troops and vigilantes in taming the activities of bandits in the area.
He noted that the onslaught on his community by bandits some months ago became a nightmare, saying the intervention of the troops had minimised cases.
He said, “Unlike some few months ago when we hardly slept with our eyes closed because of the incessant kidnapping and killings by bandits, now for about three months we have been able to sleep comfortably due to the swift intervention of troops and our vigilantes.”

The Sarkin Hausawan of Kudiri, Ilyasu Suleiman, also commended the troops for their efforts towards tackling kidnapping and banditry in the community.
He recalled how bandits invaded the community four months ago and whisked away over 30 villagers, saying the victims were rescued through the efforts of the troops and vigilantes.
He further said, “I can tell you that our people now go to their farms without any fear of being kidnaped by bandits because of the presence of troops from Jere town to Kagarko. There are four army check points and motorists ply the route freely without any fear again.”
