“There is a lot of challenges in the country, which requires a very visionary leadership to address. This is why I see this award as a form of symbolic push in such a way that you need to drive to give your best.

“In security parlance, we talk about proactiveness, to tackle insecurity requires proactivenes what government need to do in the situation is to act, no matter how, when the people are very hungry, this would be difficult.

“We should teach our young people values, values that would drive them to see that lifes is not about having so much more than others but about making positive impact,” Ikemefuna, a former staff of the Department of State Services (DSS) and attache at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) said.

He recalled that there was a time someone was kidnapped in Niger and taking to Sokoto, and that his experience and being part of the rescue team, working with the FBI and the DSS led to the rescue of the abducted American.

The Dean of membership of the institute, Dr Theophilus Cornerstone, charged the awardees to show their leadership proficiency and honesty wherever they find themselves in the interest of the nation.

He said they were honoured in recognition of their exceptional and remarkable contributions to Nigeria and the International society.
