The senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Central in last Saturday’s National Assembly elections, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, has been declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti state.
Bamidele, who was in the lower chambers of the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015, scored 94,279 to beat his closest rival, Barr. Obafemi Adewale of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled a total of 48,707 vote.
During his time at the House of Representatives, he was the chairman, House committee on Budget and Research.
With this result, the APC has cleared all the three senatorial districts and two House of Representatives seats in Ekiti state.
