Balele cautions Green against inflammatory comments

The Chairman of NFF Task Force on the cadet national teams, Alhaji Aminu Kurfi Balele, has called on other stakeholders like Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Barrister Chris Green, to desist from making inflammatory statements but join hands with the present NFF board to move Nigerian football forward.

Green, who is also the Chairman of the Rivers State Football Association, was quoted recently as saying the composition of the present board is not one to expect much from.

He was alleged to have said there are some “rookies” on the board which according to him is not what is needed in the NFF now.

While speaking on the recent performances of the Flamingos and the statements credited to Green, the Chairman of Katsina State Football Association said “The task force is a short-term issue but we will do our best to see how the young lads are transformed into bigger stars in future. We will do our best to see the lads get good clubs within and outside the country.

“You have the knowledge, come and impact. Green lost his match against Wydad 6-0 and this is the first time Nigeria will lose with that score line. You are attacking us but we are ready for constructive criticism.

“If I were Rivers State governor, I would sack him. I am not throwing stones, it is a fact. We need people like Green to assist us. They left us, they didn’t come for this celebration but they are congressmen. They were not in Ibadan as well.”
