He reiterated that the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Mallam Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa fought all their lives in ensuring social equality, human dignity, and for every Nigerian to have a sense of belonging and live a decent life.

He said, “These duo’s imprimaturs left in the sands of time remain indelible till date, resonating in all spheres of human endeavours.

“Chief Gani Fawehinmi always fought for the masses, dregs of the society and equally celebrated with the physically challenged and beggars. While Mallam Balarabe AbdulKadir Musa championed the cause of the less privileged and Talakawas; a noble cause both identified with all their lives in ensuring social justice which must be a template to measure human dignity.

“It should be remembered that the two gentlemen stood for multi-democratic political parties thus winning the case at the Supreme Court including the right of civil servants to join political parties. This has greatly enhanced and advanced our Democracy.”

Agunbiade also disclosed that this year’s celebration also seeks to add a voice to the past and present challenges being faced by underprivileged Nigerians.

He added that the Organization is also committed to making the social imbalance of the Almajiri system in the Northern part of the country a thing of the past.

He added, “Our Organization is equally poised to continue one of the cardinal objectives, ideals and ideologies on which GAFAMORG was founded; by passionately committing to the decongestion of Correctional Centre in Kaduna, using it as a pilot scheme through restorative justice system for inmates of lesser crime and criminal records and hopefully reenact subsequently in other states of the federation.”
