Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, has been chosen as the Chairman of the Forum of Commissioners for Culture, Tourism, Arts, Heritage, and Creative Economy in Nigeria.
The election took place during the Forum’s meeting in Abuja, where other officials were also selected. Prince Stan Ifeanyi Ogbuewu from Ebonyi State became Vice Chairman; Hon. Nagombe Joseph from Taraba State was elected General Secretary; Hon. Bolanle Olukoju from Kwara State became Treasurer; and Hon. Robert Abubakar Ewa from Cross Rivers State was chosen as the Public Relations Officer, while Hon. Hajiya Rabi Salisu from Kaduna State was appointed Financial Secretary.

With 43 years experience in various cultural roles, Bakare’s leadership is anticipated to bring positive change to the national arts and culture sector.
Bakare’s career includes a range of positions in the sector, such as Assistant Director at the National Troupe of Nigeria, Choreographer for the National Troupe of Gambia and Artistic Director and CEO of the Abuja National Carnival. He is also known as a leading international consultant in the creative industry.
