Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has said young Nigerians should embrace farming to ensure food security.
Answering questions from journalists after he was made Nigerian Space Ambassador by the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) in Abuja, Bagudu said countries that were more advanced than Nigeria had had all their citizens contributing positively to their countries’ economies through agriculture.

“Let’s get our people to work because countries that have achieved higher than us demand of their people (to contribute to their development of their countries’ economies).
“Nigeria is a great and blessed nation because all the 36 states and FCT can do great in food production.
“So what we need is to embrace the opportunities particularly the younger generation who can bring technology, brilliance to food production; whether it is crop production, animal husbandry or other areas of agriculture’’, the Kebbi State governor, who is also the chairman of Progressive Governors Forum, said.
He said Nigeria’s space technology is capable of transforming the country’s agriculture if properly put to use.
