Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has sworn in three High Court judges and a Khadi of the Court of Appeal.
The governor said their appointment was based on merit.
Justices Hassan Shehu Kuwa, Maryam Abubakar Ka’oje, Shamsudeen Jafar and Khadi, Nasir Umar Zagga, formed the list of the newly sworn-in Judges.
The State Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Muhammad Ambursa, administered the oath of office to them.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, Bagudu reminded the appointees that they were saddled with the new responsibilities at the most critical time in Nigeria’s history.
He said that unforeseen circumstances like the one experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, prevailing security challenges and the need for justice reforms posed more responsibilities on the judiciary.
