The Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has approved N2.9 billion for the payment of benefits of 1,172 retirees.
The acting Head of Service, Safiyanu Garba Bena, while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi Wednesday said the approval was for local government, local education authority and state retirees for the year 2021.

In his remark, the chairman of the Kebbi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Umar Halidu-Alhassan, appealed to the state government to settle the outstanding leave grants of civil servants.
He commended the state government for leaving up to its responsibility in the payment of retirement benefits of retirees.
