Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has urged youths in the country to abide by the virtues of unity, discipline, transparency in governance and service to the people for the peace and progress of the nation.
He gave the charge while speaking at a dinner/award night organised in his honour by the North-West Progressive Movement in collaboration with the Coalition of Badaru Disciples (CBD) in recognition of his youths- inclusiveness politics and governance in Dutse, the state capital, at the weekend.
The governor stressed that with the right attitude, patience, discipline and sense of unity, togetherness and brotherhood, the nation would record tremendous progress, given the advantages that the youths have in terms of population.
He said his administration’s decision to engage youths in the decision-making process has led to remarkable progress in the governance process of the state, adding that so far he has not been disappointed when taking into account “the rapid transformation” the state has witnessed in all spheres under his administration for the past six years.
“We have seen changes in the development of our state, thanks to you all. Let us emphasise service to the people, when you do that, God will always reward you and protect you.
“If you put your people first, before yourself, Allah will continue to help and prosper you, and that is what I see in you, so you should continue the good work,” the governor said.
