Less than 24 hours after its passage by the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Governor Badaru Abubakar on Wednesday signed the N177.7 billion State Appropriation Bill into law for 2022, with a pledge to ensure full implementation.

The State House of Assembly had on Tuesday passed the 2022 appropriation bill of N177. 7bn presented to it by the governor on November 10, which comprises N53bn for personnel cost; N90.8bn for capital development programme, and other recurrent expenses amounting to N33.9bn.

The Chairman of the Appropriation Committee and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Suleiman Musa Kadira, had submitted his committee’s report alongside its recommendations, which was unanimously approved and passed by the Assembly.

The governor expressed his appreciation to the legislative arm of government for their support and cooperation with the executive for the swift passage of the bill, saying the implementation would commence in full force.
