Badaru asks appointees eyeing elective positions to resign

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has directed all political appointees and civil servants who are interested in contesting for elective positions to resign their appointments latest by Monday next week.

The Commissioner for information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Bala Ibrahim, said the governor gave the directive at the state’s executive council meeting yesterday.

So far, only the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Babangida Umar Gantsa, has picked forms to contest Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency seat at the House of Representatives.
