Baby killed, dumped in well

Our correspondent gathered that the body of the 18-month-old boy, Ayomide Ojo, was found floating inside a well behind his mother’s residence, during a search by neighbours.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Victor Babayemi, who confirmed the incidents, said the baby’s mother, Mrs. Oredola Olakunboye, accused Owoeye of the crime.
It was gathered that Mrs. Olakunboye, a widow and Owoeye were lovers and that the late baby was a product of that relationship.
The PPRO said Owoeye was said to have rejected the product of the relationship and had allegedly vowed to do everything possible to get rid of the boy.
He said the corpse has been deposited at the Ikere Ekiti General Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
