The Gombe United forward got his first Super Eagles invitation for the match against Egypt, but is unavailable after a collision with Enugu Rangers’ goalkeeper, Godwin Anyalogu during the rescheduled NPL Matchday 3 tie, on March 21, left him injured.
Babadidi, who was unable to continue on matchday is receiving treatment in Gombe.
The striker has missed Gombe United’s last two games against Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves on March 25 and 29 respectively.
“I have been injured since our 2-1 victory over Enugu Rangers. It’s painful that I’ll miss the friendly since I’m not fit. I was excited when my name was listed for the match.
“However, I hope to work hard for another invitation after completing my rehabilitation,” Babadidi told SuperSport.com.
Gombe United head coach, Bernard Ogbe further confirmed to SuperSport.com that the teenage striker is not near returning to competitive football yet after suffering a knee injury on March 21.
Ogbe revealed that the club doctor told him that Babadidi will be out for at least one month.
The Gombe United trainer added that the striker will take no further part in the remaining games in the first round and could “return as early as the third week in April.”
“Losing Mustapha (Babadidi) to injury is a big blow to the player because he can no longer compete for the top scorers’ place for now. It is a bigger blow for the club because he settled in very quickly this season and scored vital goals for us”.
