Ogunlaja who expressed the support when the management of Media Trust Limited paid him a courtesy visit in his palace at the end of a  three-day retreat said the Akodo community is peaceful and that the town would be ranked among the fast growing business development areas in Lagos state.

He said arrangements had been concluded by the state government to construct an international airport, establish a free trade zone, in collaboration with the federal government, adding that the community is noted for farming and fishing business.

Alhaji Ogunlaja, however, urged the Media Trust Limited management to be part of the growing process in the community by establishing its office in the area. He  emphasized that the community, for a very long period, had  not been able to access national dailies.

“My people don’t have access to national dailies and we only know what is going on in the country through radio and television, and if there is no electricity a large percentage of members of the community is cut off. Your presence here will make a difference in our lives, Alhaji Ogunlaja stressed.

Earlier, the chairman of Media Trust Limited, Malam Kabiru Yusuf had described Akodo as a serene and peaceful environment.

“We have enjoyed our stay and we are seeking to be subjects. This is a serene environment, very close to the ocean. One of the things we discussed at our retreat is how to increase our presence in Lagos”, he said. Media Trust Limited’s Managing Director, Isiaq Ajibola, however, thanked the Baale for his warm reception.
