B’Haram threat to Nigeria’s survival – Ghanaian president

Mahama, who was on a state visit to Nigeria, urged Nigerians to unite in fighting the insurgency, asking them to stand in solidarity with the government. He said if Nigeria is destabilised, the whole of West Africa would be destabilised as Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa.
The visiting president assured that his country would continue to support Nigeria in the fight against insurgency. “You must be one in dealing with this threat to your national survival and we in West Africa believe that any destabilisation of Nigeria is a destabilisation of the whole of West African sub-region,” he said.
Mahama hinted that ECOWAS heads of states and government would convene an emergency meeting in the first week of November to discuss ways of combating the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
