Ayienugba wins ladies tennis at Nigeria Police Games in Ibadan

Funke Ayienugba of Zone 2  has emerged winner of ladies singles  tennis event at the ongoing 14th Biennial Police Games tagged ‘Oluyole 2024’ at the Ibadan Recreation Club center.

In a tension soaked match, Ayienugba defeated Dike Osinachi  of Zone 4 by 6-0, 6-0 to emerge champion.

In the men’s doubles, twins sensation, Paul and Peter Alakwem of Force Headquarters defeated the team of Idris and Aminci of Zone 2 by 6-1, 6-1 to win the gold medal.

In the women’s double, the duo of Ogar Agnes and Charity Philips of Zone 7 defeated the team of Adedayo and Oyelowo 6-0,6-0 to emerge champions.

In the men’s single final scheduled to hold at 9am today, Paul Alakwem of Force Headquarters will face Eloh Timothy in the gold medal match.

In karate, individual kata in the female category, Rita Edejoh, emerged champion while Zinab Absalam cliches the silver medal and the duo of Hamzat Olayinka and Holiness Iyoba came third and fourth respectively.

In the individual kata male category, Ebounde Emmanuel won the gold medal, Ebenezer Unoren emerged second while the duo of Victor Olabiwonun and Ebadtor Emmanuel came third and fourth respectively.

Zone 1 emerged champions in the team kata while Zone 6 clinched the silver medal with Zone 11, and Zone 7 coming third and fourth, respectively.
