Lobi Stars new signing Raphael Ayagwa has said he is ready to learn from some of his more experienced team mates.
In their bid to pick a continental ticket, Lobi Stars have embarked on an aggressive recruitment of experienced players which has seen them welcoming veterans like David Tyavkase and Timothy Anjembe.
They have also signed one of their former players, Eneji Otekpa from Kano Pillars and Super Eagles defender, Solomon Kwambe from Sunshine Stars.
Speaking to Daily Trust Saturday, the former Flying Eagles attacking midfielder said he is delighted by the opportunity to play alongside some of the ‘legends’ the Nigerian league.
He said a player like Tyavkase has been his role model and he is hoping to learn from him and some of the senior players in the team.
Ayagwa who narrowly missed out of the Flying Eagles squad to the African Championship in Senegal said even as Lobi are now filled to the brim with highly experienced players, he will always do his best anything he is given a chance.
“I am really happy to be in Lobi Stars. I thank God for giving me this opportunity.
“It is a big opportunity for me to learn from some of my more experienced team mates. Someone like Tyavkase has been one of my role models.
“I believe I have something to offer the club but I will not be too anxious. Anytime I have my chance, I will take it.
“The most interesting thing is that there is a level playing field in Lobi. We all have equal opportunities,” he noted.
Ayagwa who joined Lobi from Spotlight FC of Katsina also said he is confident Lobi will do well in the league.
“We have our first match on Sunday against 3SC. Although it is an away match, we are hoping to pick the three points.
“Victory will spur us to do well in the league. Lobi is poised to do better than last season,” he said.
