Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has carried out his threat of demolishing houses belonging to suspected kidnappers and armed robbers.
The governor had sternly warned that he had mandated the Operation Apakwu, a Security outfit launched two weeks ago, to pull down houses belonging to criminals., especially kidnappers and armed robbers.

The demolition squad was led by newly appointed state security adviser for the southern senatorial district, Leo Inyambe on Wednesday.
The houses were located in Asabanka village in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the State.
Government sources named the suspected kidnappers as Akaninyene Sunday Ifa and Nkpoikana Bassey Etim who were said to have hailed from Obot Akara LGA of Akwa Ibom State.
According to the sources, they were alleged to be behind the recent abduction of Dr Vincent Uhuegbu, a cardiologist at University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.
