#AweekOfCovid19: Travel protocols; Wrong results; Virus origins

Another week, and COVID-19 is still here. The federal government last night released a revised travel protocol into Nigeria, effective October 25.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says a new taskforce may be the last chance to find the origins of Covid-19.

The Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) has donated N300 million as part of its strategic support to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nigeria.

 

COVID-19: Katsina, Nasarawa, Ogun, Three Others Get N300m Vaccine Fund

The Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) has donated N300 million as part of its strategic support to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nigeria.

This, according to the fund, is to boost equity and access to COVID-19 vaccination among vulnerable Nigerians in Adamawa, Edo, Imo, Katsina, Nasarawa, and Ogun states.

COVID-19: FG Releases New International Travel Arrival Protocol

The federal government last night released a revised travel protocol into Nigeria effective October 25.

Chairman, Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, said that travellers arriving in Nigeria must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result conducted not more than 72 hours before boarding.

IPCR Engages Experts On COVID-19 Fight

The Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution on Wednesday organised an international symposium to brainstorm on the security and economic challenges of post-COVID-19 in Nigeria.

The two-day symposium, with the theme ‘Africa-China All Round Cooperation under the Multilateral Framework: Achieving Sustainable Peace, Security and Development in Post Co.vid-19’, was organised by the institute in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.

Covid test lab in Wolverhampton suspended over wrong results

About 43,000 people in England and Wales may have been wrongly told their Covid-19 test was negative because of errors at a private laboratory.

Testing at the Wolverhampton lab has been suspended following an investigation by NHS Test and Trace.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says a new taskforce may be the last chance to find the origins of Covid-19.

It has nominated 26 experts to join the body, the Scientific Advisory Group on the Origins of Novel Pathogens (Sago).
