Pfizer, Biontech Begin Drone Delivery Of COVID-19 Vaccines In Ghana

Zipline, the global leader in instant logistics, Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE announced that Zipline has successfully completed the first long-range drone delivery of both authorized mRNA COVID-19 vaccines requiring ultra-cold-chain in Ghana.

The collaboration of the companies, which worked together earlier this year to develop and test an end-to-end vaccine delivery solution, will allow for the distribution of tens of thousands of doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine in Ghana.

Buhari Cautions World Leaders On Danger Of Hoarding COVID-19 Vaccines

President Muhammadu Buhari has cautioned world leaders and global health institutions that sidelining countries in terms of access to COVID-19 vaccines will undermine the entire effort for safety.

The President gave the warning while delivering a keynote speech at the Paris Peace Forum (PPF), on Thursday. He said export restrictions that encouraged needless hoarding of vaccines needed to be lifted, while welcoming the pledges by industrialised countries to share vaccines.

‘COVID-19 Responsible For Kano’s Revenue Drop’

The Director of Personal Income at Kano Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), Malam Muhammad Aminu Abdullahi Bichi, has blamed the drop in the Internally Generated Revenue in the state from 2020 to 2021 on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The director stated this during a Tax Summit – Citizens Session organised by PERL FCDO in collaboration with Tax Justice and Governance Platform held in Kano, recalling that the pandemic has affected not only the country but the global economy.

COVID-19: Tobacco Coys Exploiting Pandemic As CSR

The Federal Government has been urged to de-normalize the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of the tobacco industry, as it is exploitative.

COVID-19: Self Isolation No Longer Necessary For Inbound Passengers – NCDC

Self-isolation is no longer a requirement for fully vaccinated inbound passengers, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said.

Director-General of the agency, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, stated this Monday in Abuja during the ministerial briefing on COVID-19 organised by the Federal Ministry of Health.

COVID-19: PSC, Health Ministry Clash Over N1.2bn Treatment Fund

An argument ensued Thursday between the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 and the Ministry of Health over the disbursement of the N1.2bn case management fund.
