Former champions, Kano Pillars’ have received a big boost following the return of one of their attacking midfielders, Auwalu Ali Malam, from NPFL rivals, Rivers United.
The immensely talented member of the Home-based Super Eagles spent the whole of last season at Rivers United when they represented Nigeria in the continent.
However, he has returned to the camp of the ‘Masu gida’ boys after the expiration of his half season at the ‘Pride of Rivers’.
According to the Media Officer of Kano Pillars, Alhaji Rilwanu Idris Malikawa,Rivers United had officially written to the club informing them that Malam’s loan deal with them had expired.
He said the Secretary of Kano Pillars, Ahmed Abdulrahman, has also acknowledged receipt of the letter conveying the return of the player to his home club.
He also said Rivers United have appreciated Kano Pillars cooperation throughout the duration of the loan agreement for the star player.
Malikawa confirmed that Auwalu Ali Malam is already in Kano and will join the ‘Sai masu gida’ after the mid season break.
Unhappy with their position at the end of the first stanza of the 2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, Kano Pillars are trying to beef up their squad ahead of the second round of the league.
They are in 12th place on the log with 24 points from 19 matches.
After the conclusion of the first stanza, the league proceeded on a two-week break.
