I have read here on this page in this very newspaper on many occasions about the antics of one or two police checkpoints on the Kaduna-Abuja road. The men manning those checkpoints often put obstacles on a federal highway, randomly stopping vehicles and asking for particulars while openly, brazenly asking motorists for money. Nothing seems to have been done about it, as I passed them this week and they’re still plying their embarrassing and corrupt trade. Please, Mr. Inspector-General, kindly look into it and do something about these Federal Highway Patrol men, who seem to be fast-becoming Highwaymen of the legendary West.
