The recent attack by some hoodlums at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja is quite disturbing to put it mildly.
Some suspected hoodlums had Wednesday morning attacked the health centre and destroyed the administrative block and also carted away money from the hospital’s revenue unit.
It was gathered that the hoodlums invaded the premises of the hospital at about 8 am and chased away patients as they were armed with dangerous weapons.
Sources at the centre said that the hoodlums went to the administrative block of the hospital and destroyed part of the building before carting away laptops, phones and other valuable things.
It is quite unfortunate that hospital of all places has become a target of attck for whatever reason.
Following the unfortunate incident, health workers under the auspices of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) have embarked on an indefinite strike action.
The poor masses would now be at the receiving end.
I therefore call on the security agents to quickly fish out the sponsors and perpetrators of the ugly incident to serve as deterrent to others.
