Atiku’s formal turbanning as Waziri Adamawa kicks off in Yola

The grand ceremony to turban the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the 7th Waziri Adamawa has kicked off in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Former governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other prominent figures cutting across different states of the federation are at the occasion.

A former governor of the State, Bala Ngilari, former governor of Kano State, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso with members of the Kwankwassiya Movement, are also at the event in red caps while Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State is represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Tina.

Governor Ortom of Benue State has also sent his Chief of Staff, while King Abu king Shuluwa also came from Benue State in his own capacity.

The presidential running mate of the PDP and former governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi; former governor of Sokoto State and presidential aspirant on the PDP platform, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa; Senate President Bukola Saraki; former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi; former Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan; Senator Ben Obi and many others are at the occasion.

The venue of the event is adored with the PDP colours – red, green and white – while the Hausa drummers and singers are adding colour and entertainment.

Members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees (BoT), National Executive Committee (NEC) are being expected at the event.
