Atiku promises to restore peace, improve mining activities in Plateau

Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has pledged to restore peace and improve mining activities in Plateau State.

He made the promise known at the Presidential rally of his party, in Jos, added that if elected would ensure his administration will see to the reconstruction of federal roads linking Plateau and other neighboring states.

He said, “Despite the strategic position of Plateau State in the country, roads linking it with other parts of the country have become death traps and unmotorable.

“We will construct all roads linking Plateau and other neighboring states, because the APC have failed to construct them.”

“If the people of Plateau want peace, they should vote PDP. We promise you that we will restore peace to Plateau, ” the PDP candidate said.

On the issue of tourism, the presidential candidate said Plateau was renowned for its nice weather and ambience, a potential that could generate millions of dollars to benefit the people and the State economy, if showcased.

“Our government, working hand in hand with the State government, would work to improve tourism nationwide to enhance internally generated revenue and improve the lot of the people,” he said.

Atiku said if elected President, his administration would not be marginalised, and ensured that the people of the state got their adequate appointments with the Federal Government.

In his remark, the PDP National chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, said the PDP was the people’s party, and the People of Plateau State should continue to vote for it for peace and social development, adding that “do not say you will vote one person in the PDP, and another one in another party.

The PDP’s Governorship candidate in the State, Caleb Mutfwang, in his address said the party had never lost in the Presidential election in Plateau State, and the Tuesday’s rally was a signal that the party would win the election in the Plateau.
