Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has promised to complete the Mambilla hydroelectric power station, implement true federalism and ensure national unity.
Atiku made the pledge at a stakeholders meeting held shortly after a rally to welcome opposition stalwarts including the immediate past Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Abdu Sule Katagum; Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, and over 25,000 defectors to the PDP Wednesday in Bauchi.

“If you elect me as president, first of all, I will make sure that the insecurity in the North East sub region is addressed. If PDP is elected and I come to be the president, I promise you that the Mambilla hydropower station will be a reality.
“I will restore our agricultural potential in this subregion; we have the best soil in this country, therefore, most of our people are engaged in agriculture. I promise and pledge that if PDP is elected, we will restore agricultural potential.

“During our administration between 1999 and 2007, we designed a rail line from Gombe-Adamawa-Taraba to link up with the Eastern rail line. I pledge if the PDP is elected in 2023, this proposal will be implemented.”
