Former Vice President and presidential aspirant under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, appealed to his counterpart, the former governor of Jigawa state and also a presidential aspirant under the party, Alhaji Sule Lamido, to step down for him in the race for the emmergence of the presidental flagbearer of the party.
The former vice president, made the appeal through, a short story that he narrated while addressing the party faithful in the state secretariate of the party during his campaign tour for wooing delegates ahead of presidential primary election in Dutse saying, in the days of SDP and NRC, former president, Late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, dropped his governorship ambition of Katsina state to pave way for his elder brother, who was eyeing the presidential position under same party, “I am older than Sule Lamido, therefore, he should step aside for his elder brother.”
