ATCN to train motorsport officials, marshalls for professional officiating

Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria (ATCN), a motorsport non-governmental organisation, has scheduled a programme to train motorsport officials and marshalls.

The aim of the programme is to improve motorsport development in Nigeria through professional officiating.

The president of ATCN, Mr. Ishaku Bamaiyi, explained that, “the training will enhance quality and professional officiating thereby improving the development of motorsport in Nigeria in line with the FIA standard and rules.

“Nigerians from 18 years and above who are interested in becoming professional motorsport officials or marshalls are encouraged to participate in the training”, he said.

According to Bamaiyi, the training exercise is free and it is conducted through online (zoom) thereby making it accessible and flexible for participants.

According to him, the two-day training event is scheduled for December 3rd and 4th, 2024, with day one (December 3rd) kicking off at 7pm-9pm, and day two (December 4th) at the same time and venue online.

The ATCN president said that, “The practical (physical) sessions of the training programme will come up next year”.

ATCN is a member of the Federation International Del’Automobile (FIA), the global body of motorsport.
