‘ASUU strike: An agent of insecurity

This strike is not a solution and will never be a solution. It is rather a contributor to insecurity, immorality, and unemployment in our dear country.

Education is the process of facilitating learning, or acquisition of knowledge, skill, value, morals, beliefs, habits and personal development.

It’s a way of creating development, job opportunities, standard economy, security, awareness, modern society, and it develops problem-solving skills.

In Nigeria today, we need nothing more than adequate security because we are in a high level of insecurity.

Nigeria, in terms of education, is left behind compared to other countries that are far behind Nigeria in terms of economic resources; like Ghana and Benin Republic.

In Nigeria, we have everything and we don’t have anything because we don’t have qualitative education and security, and these have a link to the ASUU strikes.

ASUU has already made strikes a way of damaging students’ careers and preventing the government from addressing important issues.

One would want to ask the following questions to ASUU:

What is the significance of money in the absence of peace?

Do you want to see the youth on the streets engaged in kidnapping  and other vices?  Undoubtedly, the answer is NO. Therefore, the strike is not a solution to this problem.

Nigerians need qualitative education because of the various problems we are facing in this country.

Most students wanted to finish their studies and go into practice, business and so on but the strike is consuming time. The programme that is supposed to last four years may extend to five or six years.

We are calling on the ASUU to find a solution to this problem that will not involve going on strike.
