Reactions have trailed Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu’s action after he stormed out of a meeting with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the ministry’s conference room in Abuja.
Adamu had scheduled an impromptu meeting with the leadership of NANS, who barricaded the entrance to the ministry while protesting the one-month warning strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) leadership.

Trouble started when the students asked Adamu to vacate his office since he could not resolve the crisis between the ASUU and the government.
Adamu said he was “disappointed with their comments” and stepped out of the meeting.
Below are reactions that trailed Adamu’s actions online:
Adamu Adamu couldn’t control his emotions yesterday. He met his waterloo. So called Minister of Education who couldn’t even listen to D problems of his students with an open mind. He is a failure. There is nothing tangible he has achieved as far as Nigerian Education is concern. pic.twitter.com/hpiQX2mhqF

Nigerian students asked the Minister of Education why his own children are schooling in the UK while they are sitting at home due to strike, because he’s unable to do his job well 🤣🤣🤣

If Adamu Adamu got angry and walk out of a meeting because his self respect was bruised, how should the Nigerian student react then. I mean it’s our future at stake here…

While Adamu Adamu made a fool of himself, NANS finally redeemed themselves. This is the first time I heard the name of the Minister of Education. Nigerians used to know the names of Ministers on Obasanjo & Goodluck Jonathan’s watch. Now, nepotism destroyed everything.😢
