ASUU, FG, please end the strike

For over six months, public university students in the country have been at home due to a strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). I agree that the union has grievances that need to be addressed.

At the same time, I call on members of the union to consider the plight of the students, who are mostly children of the poor and less privileged. I plead with members of the union to return to the negotiation table and find a middle ground so that this crisis can come to an end.

An indefinite strike at this point is not good for the education sector and the development of the youth in Nigeria. The federal government should also understand that history will not judge it fairly if it allows this strike to continue. It should do everything possible to end the strike.

SPONSOR AD

Continuous exchange of words with the lecturers is not helping anyone.  Both parties should think of the youth of this country and end this crisis as soon as possible. Tomorrow is not too soon to call off the strike.
