A social cultural association, Club 1297 of Nigeria, Lokoja Branch, yesterday expressed concern over rising cases of kidnapping, armed robbery and general insecurity in Idah local government area and other communities in Kogi East senatorial district.
President of the association, Alhaji Ibrahim Aruwa, who addressed a press conference over the trend, appealed to security agencies to step up security surveillance in the area.
He said cases of kidnapping and armed robbery along the Ajegwu-Idah road had become rampant in recent times such that people were now afraid of traveling through the road which happens to be the major route connecting them to other parts of the state.
