Kaduna State House of Assembly has urged the management of the state Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTELIA) to call its marshals to order and stop harassing road users while discharging their duties.
The lawmakers urged the management to encourage attitudinal change among its officers within and outside the metropolis.
The chairman Committee on Public Works and Infrastructure, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim, made the call when the agency’s management appeared before the house for budget defence.
The house also frowned at the way and manner KASTELIA officers treated road users even if they had not committed any traffic offence.
The chairman said majority of road traffic offenders in most cases went free and law abiding citizens ended up being maltreated while trying to identify themselves to the marshals.
